Project Yaal, organized by the Rotaract Club of APIIT, was an experience that I will remember for a long time. Being part of this project gave me the opportunity to travel to Jaffna, contribute to the community, and experience the culture and hospitality of a different part of Sri Lanka.
One of the most meaningful parts of the project was taking part in the community service activities during the Nallur Kovil festival. Distributing food to people and being able to help those who were attending the festival made me realize that even small acts of kindness can make a difference. Seeing the happiness and appreciation of the people we helped made the effort feel truly worthwhile.
Another memorable part of Project Yaal was visiting an orphanage. Spending time with the children, interacting with them, and sharing simple moments together was a very heartwarming experience. It reminded me that community service is not only about giving material things, but also about giving our time, attention, and care to others.
The project also gave me the chance to meet members of other Rotaract clubs. Working together, sharing experiences, and having fun with people from different Rotaract clubs helped me build new friendships and improve my teamwork and communication skills. Of course, the trip was not all about service; the fun moments, conversations, and experiences we shared made the journey even more enjoyable.
Overall, Project Yaal changed my perspective on community service. It showed me that volunteering is not simply about helping others, but also about learning, connecting with people, and becoming a more responsible individual. I returned from Jaffna with wonderful memories, new friendships, and a stronger desire to take part in more projects that create a positive impact on society.I would special thank the Rotract club of apiit for this opportunity and the chair person for this amazing expireince
